The history of Dudheshwarnath Temple located in Ghaziabad city is linked to the Ravana period. It is considered to be a Swayambhu temple. Shri Dudheshwarnath Mahadev Math Temple is very ancient and historical. Its historicity is attested.
In the Puranas, there is a description of Hiranyagarbha Jyotirlinga on the banks of the river Haranandi (Hiranyada), where Vishwashrava, the son of Pulastya and father of Ravana, did severe penance. Ravana also worshiped here. Later on, the name of the river Harnandi became Hindon and Hiranyagarbha Jyotirlinga is the self-styled divine Shivling established in the Dudheshwar Mahadev Math temple three and a half feet below the ground.
The main gate of this temple is carved out of a single stone. In the middle of the door is present Ganesh Ji, which has been carved out of this stone. Some people believe that this temple was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Mythological Legend
It is said that when the cows of the nearby village of Kaila used to come here to graze, then on reaching the top of the mound, the milk automatically started falling. When the villagers excavated the mound, astonished by this incident, they found this Shivling there. Due to being irrigated with the milk of cows, it is called Dudheshwar or Dugdheshwar Mahadev.
Mahant Tradition
The Mahant tradition continues in the temple. The tombs of all these are on the temple premises. At present, the sixteenth Shri Mahant Narayan Giri (Shri Mahant Narayan Giri Ji) is the presiding officer of Shri Dudheshwar Nath Math Mahadev Temple.
A huge crowd of devotees gathers here during the month of Sawan. Devotees who bring Kanwar from far and wide worship Lord Shiva in the Dudheshwar temple and offer Gangajal. During the festival of Shivratri, devotees come in large numbers to have the darshan of Dudheshwar Mahadev. The festival of Shivratri is considered special.

Shri Thakurdwara and Divya Kua
Shri Dudheshwarnath Mahadev Math is adorned with the divine light of ancient divine idols by Thakur established in the very ancient and sacred premises of the temple. There are magnificent statues here. The well is still established in the middle of the huge hall of Shri Thakurdwara. Whose water is very miraculous, sometimes it becomes salty, sometimes sweet and sometimes it tastes like milk. All the Siddha saints and Shri Mahants associated with the Math temple have also tasted the miraculous running of this divine well.
Navagraha Temple
Navagraha temple established in the temple premises near the ancient huge tree of Peepal. Along with the idols of Jupiter, Mercury, Surya, Soma, Mars, Rahu, Shani, Ketu, and Venus, a grand statue of the first worshiped destroyer of obstacles, Shri Ganesh, installed in the Navagraha temple. The temple always lit up with the light of the eternal flame. For the sake of planetary peace, devotees also worship here continuously. Makeup Philosophy
The grand makeup of Lord Dudheshwar is the main attraction for the devotees. Every Monday, a grand makeup of Lord Dudheshwar done by the members of Shringar Samiti formed under the patronage of Shri Mahant Narayan Giri. Seasonal fruits and other ingredients used in various types of dishes in the makeup. Guru Purnima
This festival celebrated with traditional gaiety on the full moon day of Guru Purnima Ashadh month. Worshiping Guru or Acharya on this day has special significance. The system of worshiping the Guru as a deity like Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva is the specialty of Hinduism. The worship of Guru Dattatreya ji done according to the law.

Chaturmas Vrat
The year-long Chaturmas fast starts from Harishayani Ekadashi of Ashadh month. During this fast, the cover across the river of the monk of the Math temple remains closed. According to the Puranas, Lord Vishnu takes 4 months of unbroken sleep on Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi and gives up sleep after 4 months on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi. Chaturmas is a very good time for worship devotion and for awakening spiritual power. All the devotees must take advantage of this.
Mondays of Shravan Month
The month of Shravan is very dear to Ashutosh Lord Bholenath Shiva. Parthiv Shiva worship has special significance in Shravan. As much as Monday is dear to Lord Shiva, the Monday of Sawan is more dear to him than the entire Shravan month. From the very next day of Guru Purnima, the event of 1 month celebrated in its huge form in the historic Siddhpeeth Shri Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev Math temple with full enthusiasm and gaiety. On the Trayodashi Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Shravan month, lakhs of devotees bring the water of the impure holy Ganga from vermilion Gangotri and Haridwar in Kanwar.
