Bhagavad Gita or Gitopanisad is one of the most important Upanishad. Bhagavad Gita is the philosophy of life narrated and explained by Lord Krsna to his devotee and friend Arjuna.

There Arjuna could see, the armies of both parties. He found his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, and also his fathers-in-law and well-wishers.
On the battlefield, Arjuna could see an assemblage of all kinds of relatives. He could see his father’s contemporaries persons like Bhurisrava, grandfathers Bhisma and Somadatta, teachers Dronacarya and Krpacarya, maternal uncles Salya and Sakuni, brothers Duryodhana, sons like Laksmana, friends Asvatthama, well-wishers Krtavarma. etc. He could see many of his friends in the armies.

Arjuna, son of Kunti said after observing all these different grades of friends and relatives. Arjuna became overwhelmed with compassion.

Arjuna said: My dear Krsna, seeing my friends and relatives are all present before me in such a fighting spirit, I feel the limbs of my body shaking and my mouth drying up.
Man with genuine devotion to the Lord has all the good qualities which are found in godly persons, whereas the non-devotee, however, whatever may be his material qualifications by education and culture lacks in godly qualities.
As such, Arjuna, overwhelmed by compassion for his kinsmen on the battlefield, had so decided to fight amongst themselves. Foreseeing their imminent death, Arjuna was sympathetic to the soldiers of the opposite party. He was sympathetic from the beginning to his own soldiers.
While he was thinking of the result of the battle, the limbs of his body began to shake, and his mouth became dry. As a matter of fact, the whole community’s blood relatives of Arjuna had come to fight with him. This made Arjuna emotional. It can be imagined that he was not only shaking but also but he was also crying out of compassion. Such symptoms in Arjuna were for softheartedness and not due to weakness a characteristic of a pure devotee of the Lord.
yasyasti bhaktir bhagavaty akirncana
sarfvair gunais gtatra samaste surah
harav abhaktasya kuto mahad-guna
mano-rathenasati dhavato bahih
When a person has an unquestionable devotion to the Godhead must possess all the good qualities of a demigod. On the other hand, a non-devotee of the Lord may have the material qualification of no value.
