When non-religious activity is dominant in the family, O Krsna, the female member of the family becomes corrupt, and from that comes unwanted progeny.

Krsna and Arjuna

Most of the people of our society want to live in peace, want prosperity, and spirituality.

Such a population depends on the chastity and faithfulness of its womanhood. The women and children need to be protected by the elder members of the family. The women should keep engaged in many religious practices to avoid degradation and adultery.

Without practicing varnashrama dharma the women enjoy the freedom and indulge in adultery and the emergence of an unwanted population will become inevitable. Insensible men also provoke adultery in society, and thus unwanted children flood the human race at the risk of war and pestilence.
