vepathus ca sarire me roma-harsas ca jayate
gandivam sramsate hastat tvak caiva paridahyate
My whole body is shaking, my hair is standing on end, and my bow Gandiva is slipping from my hand. My skin is burning.
There can be two kinds of trembling of the body, and two kinds of standings of the hair on end. These phenomena occur either in great spiritual ecstasy or out of great fear under material conditions. As there cannot be any fear in transcendental realization, Arjuna’s symptoms of trembling in this situation are out of material fear, that is loss of life. This can be noticed in other symptoms also; he became so impatient that his famous bow Gandiva was slipping from his hands, and because his heart was burning within him, he was feeling a burning sensation on the skin. All these are due to a material conception of life.

na ca saknomy avasthatum bhramativa ca me manah
nimittani ca pasyami viparitani kesava
My entire body is shaking, my hair is standing on end, and my bow Gandiva is slipping from my hand. My pores and skin is burning.
There may be varieties of trembling of the body, and varieties of standings of the hair on end. These phenomena arise both in superb religious ecstasy or out of exceptional worry under material conditions. As there can’t be any worry in transcendental realization, Arjuna’s signs of trembling in this case are out of cloth worry, this is a lack of life. This may be noticed in different signs also; he has become so impatient that his well-known bow Gandiva was slipping from his hands, and due to the fact his heart was burning inside him, he was feeling a burning sensation in the pores and skin. All those are because of a material concept of life.
