Shankar told the goddess that you should drink blood after cutting your neck with a knife. The goddess cut off her head with the knife and took it in her left hand.

Streams of blood started coming out of the neck, which left the right Dakini-Shakini also two streams went into her mouth and the middle stream went into the mouth of the goddess, drinking and she became satisfied. Since then, the mother’s name became Chhinnamasta.

This temple is very ancient. Shankaracharya visited this place 1200 years ago. The temple built by the tantric method. Eight lotus and sixty-four Yoginis are inscribed on the walls of the temple. Dakshin Dhara drinks Varnini and Bam Dhara Dakini.

The symbol of Kamadeva is the Damodar River in Rajappa and the symbol of Rati is the river Bhairavi, which embraces Damodar from above. Thus, the contrast between the river and the river here. There is confluence in ratimudra. It is symbolic. The temple of Maa Chhinnamasta is angular for roundness. Its height is usually thirty feet.

The Temple:

The main gate of the temple is in the east direction. On the east-south corner under the gate, there is a clean and beautiful place for the sacrifice of goats and the sacrificial altar has been done. The place of Mahisha Bali is safe in the southern part. There is also a place for shaving children.

There are 3 eyes of the mother in the boulder located inside the temple of Maa Chinnamastike. She is standing on a lotus flower with her left foot extended forward. Kamdev and Rati are sleeping in the opposite rati mudra under the feet. Mother Chinnamastike’s neck adorned with sarpa mala and Mundmala. With the scattered and open hair, tongue out, adorned with ornaments, the mother is in the divine form in a naked state.

She holds a sword in her right hand and his own severed head in his left hand. Dakini and Shakini are standing next to them, and they are giving blood to them and themselves are also drinking blood. Three streams of blood are flowing from her throat.

Puja And Ritual:

The first worship of Maa Chhinmasta performed every day in the early morning by the priests made of Arva rice with Akshat, Jaggery, Ghee, and Camphor. Kheer enjoyed in the afternoon. No one stays inside the temple at the time of Bhog and the doors  closed. The third puja performed during the evening adornment and then the doors of the temple are closed, but the temple remains open till the midnight of the new moon and full moon. There is night worship of Durga on this occasion. The thirteenth chapter of Saptashati is favored. Maa Chhinnamasta worshiped daily, but Tuesdays and Saturdays are especially worshiped by devotees. In Shardiya Durgatsav, Navami Puja to the mother  first performed by Santal tribesmen and the first goat of worship sacrificed to them.

Every day about 7-8 thousand pilgrims come here on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10-12 thousand, and during Navratri 50-60 thousand. There are lakhs in Navratri and Ramnavami. Passengers come, which women are more. There are 400 shops around the temple for tea, snacks, fruits, flowers, and prasad. The area of ​​this holy temple is 2 acres. About 45-50 lakhs pilgrims visit every year.
