Bhramari Devi Mandir is located at a distance of 20 KM in the west direction from Jalpaiguri. This Shaktipeeth is established on the banks of the Teesta River in Bodaganj forest. Bhramari Devi Mandir is thronged by devotees daily. It is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. Sati’s left foot had fallen here. Here Vyomkesh Bhairav is revered with God in the name of Goddess Sarvanandkari.

This Satipeeth is Trisrota. The goddess is worshipped here in the name of Bhramari. According to Peethanirnaya Tantra, the left foot of the goddess fell here. According to some, Jalpeshdham is the original seat of Goddess Bhramari. Some beleive, this Shaktipeeth is in the Bodaganj region of Jalpaiguri district. However, there are different opinions about when the Bhramari Devi Mandir built here, but the most accepted one is that a saint wearing a red shawl arrived a few decades ago. His tresses reached his feet. He used to worship and perform Yagna in this temple for a long time. It was the saint who found the stone left foot of the goddess under three thick tree trunks. A devotee also painted a map of the temple on the wall of Falakatta station. Not only that, it is said that two officials of the Geological Survey of India also came to this temple and preached the glory of the goddess to the local residents.
Information received from Shri Chandi Murti Rahasya that Bhramari Devi Tejomandal Pradipta – multivarnabhushita, various ornaments adornment. They are wearing whirlpools of different varnas. She is the goddess of epidemic or great death. That is why naturally her favorite abode is the cremation ground. Goddess Bhramari is a special form of Jagannamata Chandika. In the tenth chapter, the mother herself says ‘Ekaivaham Jagtyanna Dwitiya Ma Mamapara’.
There is only me in this world, except me there is no one else. Here a devotee said in a dream- ‘Whoever worships me, I will accept that worship in that form.’ Brahmarishi Satyadev has said in Sri Sri Chandi’s commentary ‘Sadhan Samar’ that Bhramari means the enemy of illusion. One who destroys illusions. The mother of flesh and blood, the enemy of illusion or pleasure, causes us to be brought to this world. That is why Jagtik Maa is the first form of Bhramari Devi.
You are Jagannamata even after worshiping the mother. Those who worship their mother do not need pilgrimage. It doesn’t matter if there is no instrument or bhajan. The entire area of the temple is 20 beeches.
Puja and Believe:
Local residents believe that the goddess is very awake here. By whose grace one saved from many dangers. Be it domestic dispute or legal. However, everything is a matter of faith. And, the argument is far from over. Special pujas held in this temple on Durga Puja and Maghi Purnima. Many devotees come here from far and wide during this time.
