Legend:

Shri Banke Bihariji appeared by devotion through Swami Haridas Ji. He was at Vishaka Kund of Nidhuvan before. Sri Radhika Deity was not established in this temple along with Sri Krishna. She was present there only at Nidhuban.

Seeing the dilapidated condition of the Banke Bihari Temple Mathura, the new construction at the present place was done in 1856 with the help of devotees. The deity installed then in the present temple. Sri Banke Behariji’s Tableau can be seen with a special arrangement. The reason for the exhibition of Tableau is the philosophy of his devotion and love for his devotees.

Once upon a time, a great devotee appeared for his darshan. He stared at them for a long time. Rasik Banke Bihari Ji got fascinated with him and went to his village with him. Later on, Bihari ji’s emotions revealed and after much persuasion to return him to Shri Mandir. That is why arrangements  made for the tableau darshan of Bihari Ji so that no one could see him.
