Thousands of devotees visit the temple every day to have the darshan of the mother. The “Soroshi” form of Maa Kali worshiped in this temple. The form of the temple resembles the shape of a tortoise or kurma and hence it called “Kurma Peeth”.

The name of this mysterious temple of Buxar is ‘Tripur Sundari’. It said that it built about 400 years ago. It said that during midnight, these idols of the deities sitting in the temple interact with each other.
